A Crack in the Sky: Masterpost
Jul. 9th, 2012 01:17 pmTitle: A Crack in the Sky
Author:
jezrana
Band(s): My Chemical Romance (cameos by various members of other bands and comic book authors/artists)
Pairing(s): Frank/Gerard/Grant Morrison, background Mikey/Alicia
Word Count: 54,784
Rating: R
Warning(s): violence, self-harm, discussion of suicide, mentions of drug use and addiction problems, dubcon, demonic possession and horror themes
Summary:
Author's Notes: This is a story I have wanted to write since 2008, though it's evolved a lot since then, and tried and failed to write in 2009. It would probably still be languishing in my WIP folder if it wasn't for
tuesdaysgone. From the moment I said I was thinking of trying to write it again she encouraged me and helped me talk myself into it. And then she beta'd it, too, because she's just that awesome. Huge thanks to her, my artist and mixer, and the BBB mods!
Disclaimer: This story is incredibly fictional. Don't google yourself. Certain liberties have been taken with the history and geography of the Paramour.

Summary:
After discovering his psychic ability--and talent for communicating with ghosts--at a young age, Gerard threw himself into the study of the supernatural. With the help of his mentor, his brother, and his friends, he'd begun making a name for himself as a paranormal investigator. Then his team took a case that sent them reeling and threatened to break them apart when they needed each other most. A year later, still haunted by the past, the team's latest case takes a dangerous turn, and they'll have to fight to make it through with their lives--and souls--intact.

A World So Small: Master Post
Jun. 11th, 2009 10:55 pmA World So Small
Band(s): My Chemical Romance
Pairing(s): Frank/Gerard
Word Count: 30,943
Rating/Warnings: R (contains sex, morbid themes, and Wikipedia-researched history)
Summary: Victorian AU. When Frank, a sickly young man, is advised by his doctors to leave London for the country, he makes arrangements to stay with his friend Michael, who just so happens to be in possession of a large, old, and somewhat creepy manor house. What Frank has no idea of at the time is that Michael has an older brother, whose presence in the house he conceals. Gerard is an eccentric recluse who spends most of his time hiding in the attic and avoiding any kind of interaction with people, but he finds himself fascinated with Frank, who in turn realizes that the house has secrets, and becomes determined to uncover them. When he finally does discover Gerard, their first meeting is only the beginning of their story.
Notes: Hey, look, I wrote a historical AU! I'm sure you're all shocked. On the list of "Things I've written that are incredibly self-indulgent", this one ranks pretty high--it started off as me wanting to play around with Gothic romance tropes, and ended up a little bit Jane Eyre and a little bit Secret Garden, only minus all the things that make those classic works of literature and plus a lot of Frank and Gerard being loser weirdos in love. Many thanks to
shoemaster and
strobelighted for beta-ing, and, as always, to everyone who, for whatever reason, continues to encourage me to write down all the ridiculous stuff I come up with. I hope it's as fun to read as it was to write.
Standard disclaimers apply: these representations of real people are amazingly fictional and not for profit, I should in no way be mistaken for an expert on the Victorian era, and I think all the books mentioned are in the public domain, but if any of them aren't, they belong to their respective authors' estates, not me. The title comes from the song "Now Three" by Vienna Teng.

In conclusion: these are both fantastic and you should all tell
allyndra how fantastic they are.

A World So Small: Fanmixes
Jun. 11th, 2009 10:48 pmI was lucky enough to get two fanmixes this year, and I adore them both. It's always amazing to me when someone can take something I wrote and find a song I've never heard before that fits it perfectly, and both my mixes are full of examples of that. Thanks so much to both my mixers! ♥

The Fall and Rise of The Black Parade
Jun. 14th, 2008 03:47 pmThe Fall and Rise of The Black Parade
Band(s): My Chemical Romance
Pairing(s): Frank/Gerard, Ray/Mikey
Word Count: ~53,000
Rating/Warnings: R (language, violence, sexuality, discussion of drug use). Deals throughout with death and related topics, including violent death, cancer, depression, and suicide. Character death on a pretty big scale.
Author Notes: I'd been toying with thoughts of a Black Parade AU since I first got into bandom, and then big bang came along and I figured, what better excuse to write something epic and massive? So, uh, here it is, and I apologize in advance for just how massive it ended up. The Black Parade concept and all songs from the album referenced herein are 100% MCR's, and this story is 110% fictional and just me riffing off of Gerard Way's crazy genius. Thanks to
fragilistikal for betaing, and to everyone on my friends list who put up with my flailing and gave me encouragement and reassurances when I needed them. I hope you guys like it. <3
Summary: “I used to think this was Hell. I mean, I always figured that’s where I was headed, if there was any afterlife. And then when I got here…there were no lakes of fire, or anything, but I was stuck on my own in a place where nothing grows or changes, so I figured, okay, Hell’s just a little different than I always thought it would be. But then, after a while…it wasn’t so bad. I found a place where I could kind of belong, and I met Toro and Brian and Bob and Mikey…and you. And I figure…if I was in Hell, falling in love shouldn’t really be in the cards, should it?
So after that, I started thinking—okay, maybe this place isn’t anything I ever heard about in school or church. But then again, maybe it is. Maybe this is Purgatory. And I always had the idea that Purgatory was kind of like prison, y’know, you gotta serve your sentence and the only thing that’s gonna get you out quicker is good behavior or having friends in high places. But maybe—maybe you don’t have to just sit around waiting for someone to tell you your sentence is up. Maybe Purgatory ends when you get yourself out of it.”
