There are so many things to like about this (Frank and Mikey's friendship! The UST! Brian maybe-maybe-not having a sense of humour! Gerard's crippling anxieties but his ultimate willingness to start working on them!) but what actually stood out most to me was the way this had a very Victorian tone to the actual writing, but it was incredibly readable and contemporary at the same time. This was a real pleasure to read and I enjoyed it very much.
I wasn't sure how I felt about where Part 3 left off--it ended on a very nice note but it felt like it had come somewhat too soon, if that makes sense--but the epilogue was WONDERFUL and I just want a dozen stories about their adventures on the continent! (And at sea, of course, so all five of them are involved.)
